Jagua Hotel

With an excellent location on the seashore of Cienfuegos´s bay, in the vicinity of the residential neighborhood known as Punta Gorda, the Jagua Hotel is considered among the most famous hotels in Cienfuegos, recognized for giving to its guests an easy access to the historical center of the city, named Heritage of Humanity by the UNESCO due to its cultural, patrimonial and architectural values.

The Jagua has a 4 star category. Its architecture is typical from the 50´s, but it was recently renovated and offers new airs of contemporaneity. Its different areas are open, wide and with ample lighting; the lobby is very welcoming, colorful and with a modern furniture. The 149 rooms overlooking the city are very comfortable and have a decoration in total harmony with the rest of the hotel. The swimming pool is just perfect for relaxation while watching the marvelous bay. During the sunset a walkthrough the coast is the best occasion for visiting, under the dusk lights, the near wooden houses or the summerhouse for a romantic date.

Visiting the Jagua is indeed a unique encounter with the history of Cienfuegos. Very close is the magnificent Palacio de Valle erected in the dawn of the XX century, impressive for its Moorish style. During the 1950´s it was sold to a real state promoter, who wanted to turn the place into a luxurious complex including a casino and several hotels. The Jagua was constructed with that objective in mind, but with the triumph of the Cuban Revolution, the casino was closed and the hotel transcended like the first one opened by the revolutionary government.

The Jagua offers both diurnal and nocturnal activities; the latter are mainly concentrated in the cabaret and the nightclub often visited by the locals.
